This section contains collected material, published and unpublished, from organisations and individuals outside the College with a connection to Anglican evangelicalism in Australia. It includes resources from the Donald Robinson Library’s Rare Book collection and the physical archives collection which have been digitized, as well as born digital content.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are advised that this collection contains images, voices or names of deceased persons. Some resources contain language that reflects the views and attitudes of the period in which it was produced, but may not be considered appropriate today. Copyright status is indicated for individual items.
Physical Archives
The physical archives collection includes the institutional records of Moore College, as well as the records of organizations and individuals with a connection to Moore College, the Anglican Diocese of Sydney and/or the evangelical tradition in Australia. Physical materials are available by request, and can only be used on the premises of the Donald Robinson Library at 1 King St Newtown NSW. Some material requires prior permission to acceess - this is indicated on the record for each item or series.
Marella Mission Farm collection
The Samuel Marsden Archives was the custodian of the Marella Mission Farm collection from the time the farm closed until 2019. The collection was deemed to be outside the collecting scope of the Samuel Marsden Archives, and transferred to the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS). Please contact AIATSIS for access information.
Anglican Deaconess Ministries collection
The Anglican Deaconess Ministries collection held by Moore College does not include any records of, or information about, residents or patients at facilities run by the Deaconess Institution. Anglican Deaconess Ministries Ltd holds records relating to the Deaconess Children’s Home and Domestic Training School, in Balmain, Ashfield and Annandale; Lisgar Training Service for Domestic Servants; Lisgar Children’s Home, in Harrison Street Marrickville and Agincourt in Strathfield; Pallister House at Strathfield and Greenwich and Pallister Young People’s Unit and Special School, and Lisgar Hostel at Arncliffe. They also ran Eversleigh Hospice, Neringah and Greenwich Hospitals and Braeside Hospital. Please contact Anglican Deaconess Ministries for access to records relating to these homes and hospitals.
